The Zefiro mechanism is specifically designed to accommodate mattress from 18 cm up to 22 cm thick, thus guaranteeing full comfort for user. The high-tensile steel mechanism is made with a supporting frame already fit with bayonets for quick assembly of the arm- and backrests. The opening-closing mechanism on the seat cushion has been patented. This means that, as the sofa opening system turns, the cushion comes out first when opening and goes in last when closing. Thus the cushion turns a full 180 ∘ and does not hinder the operation. The orthopaedic bed base comes with either rectangular electro-welded mesh or 16 cm wide slats (see photo), particularly suitable for frequent and daily use. For the area which, when the mechanism is closed, constitutes the seating surface, the customer can choose between elastic straps and electro-welded panel. The Zefiro mechanism, certified by CATAS, can accommodate a wide choice of comfortable polyurethane and memory foam mattresses. The design of the highly resistant support feet has been registered.
